I would say all my portraitures are self portraits. This series is where I started. Wanting to search and explain who I am to myself. It took me years to see it, I’m talking 10 years. But now, believe it or not, I stand in front the mirror and I really see that world. They birthed so abstract and the architecture so graphically generated due to my OCD of a controlled line. (Issues from my childhood). The graphic stuff needed something to soften and balance the eye. At the same time I was also creating this hand movement of faux brushstrokes. Not knowing what to do with this stuff the two collided. The solution was not so obvious because you can get lost in the endless possibilities. Time wasted chasing (ie) hours turned into days turn into weeks turn into months.
